Detailed 十二宫 guide
命宫
Governs: overall life direction, temperament, abilities, and outward presence Role: central 宫位
命宫 is the central point of the 十二宫 and represents a person's broad life direction. A reading begins here, then considers its 主星, supporting relationships, and links with other 宫位.
| Favorable 星曜 | Challenging 星曜 |
|---|---|
| 紫微, 天府, 天相, 太阳, and a strong 太阴 | 七杀, 破军, or 贪狼 require context; an empty 宫位 requires 借星 |
Key points
- The 主星 in 命宫 shapes core temperament.
- An empty 命宫 borrows 星曜 from the opposite 宫位.
- When 命宫 and 身宫 coincide, personal agency is often more pronounced.
- 化禄, 化权, and 化科 can strengthen the overall 格局.
