命宫 is the central point of the 十二宫 and represents a person's broad life direction. A reading begins here, then considers its 主星, supporting relationships, and links with other 宫位.

紫微, 天府, 天相, 太阳, and a strong 太阴	七杀, 破军, or 贪狼 require context; an empty 宫位 requires 借星
