Core principle
In the 月令 method, 格局 is taken from the relationship between the 日主 and the 天干 revealed from 月支藏干.
Practical definition: determine which 藏干 from 月支 is revealed, identify its 十神 relationship to 日主, and name the corresponding 格.
This requires two foundations:
- The 藏干 contained in each 地支.
- The 十神 relationship between the 日主 and those 藏干.
Classical schools differ on priority when several 藏干 are revealed, so later chapters compare the major approaches.
