Chapter 1:
Lesson 1:
Origin of the pattern
The 天干 order pairs the first with the sixth, the second with the seventh, and so on: 甲己, 乙庚, 丙辛, 丁壬, 戊癸. Each pair joins a Yang 天干 with a Yin 天干.
The presence of a pair does not automatically mean successful 合化. Season, roots, revealed support, competing combinations, and school-specific rules must also be considered.
